Products ABC Product Library Hand-Held and Portable Instruments OxyGuard Handy hand-held oxygen meters have proved their worth all over the world since 1989, when their introduction represented a revolution in practical measuring instruments. Prior to that date, hand-held dissolved oxygen meters were expensive, fragile devices that couldn't withstand moisture, let alone larger quantities of water. They also needed to be switched on some time before measurements could be made. The Handy Mk I was instantly ready for use and could be dropped into the water without suffering damage. It also floated, so you could fish it out of the water again! The present range of Handy instruments have several advantages over the original Handy range. OxyGuard hand-held instruments are found for dissolved and gaseous oxygen, temperature and pH. A number of OxyGuard instruments are also found in portable, battery-powered versions. These have all the alarm (limit switch) and other functions of the corresponding stationary instruments. They are equipped with batteries for several days use, but can also be mains powered for measurements of longer duration. Other instruments are specifically designed to be portable. Oxyguard Hand-held Instruments The OxyGuard Handy range consists of instruments for dissolved oxygen and temperature. A special version is designed for checking the purity of modified atmosphere packaging gas. Instruments for pH, redox/ORP and temperature alone are also found. Oxyguard Portable Instruments The OxyGuard 1, OxyGuard PPB and OxyGuard Pure Water pH are all available in portable versions. The OxyLog combined meter and data logger is specifically designed as a portable instrument. The EasyCal calibrator is also designed to be portable. top Hand-Held Instruments The Handy range consists primarily of the Alpha, Beta and Gamma. The Alpha measures dissolved oxygen alone, the Beta dissolved oxygen and temperature, and the Gamma also has salinity compensation. The Beta and Gamma have displays that can be illuminated. The Handy Atmosphere, for measuring gas, is useful for checking the purity of pure oxygen as well as modified atmosphere packaging gas. The Handy pH is also available for measuring redox, and the MiniTemp is a small thermometer. Hand-held instruments with 0-1V analogue output are available on request.
